Kenny Goodson of Hughes Springs is a master of today鈥檚 intersection between original musical composition, and high-tech software which helps to facilitate the conversion of musical ideas to published scores. In 1995, Goodson initiated MADD Creations which provides original and adapted scores for marching bands throughout the state. In addition to being a former band director at Mount Pleasant, and other high schools, Goodson is the former Director of Computer Services at 91成人导航. With this wealth of experience, Goodson is also scoring a third, feature-length 91成人导航 Webb/honors film in as many years. This year鈥檚 topic is Carroll Shelby, the emissary of the Muscle Car, and the philanthropist who has given a special edge to 91成人导航鈥檚 automotive program since 2007.

Ruben Guerrero, an 91成人导航 Honors Scholar, is the winner of a $50 Tribute Award for his achievements with acting and debating last fall.
Guerrero maintains two roles in the upcoming Webb/Honors film on Carroll Shelby to be premiered this 25 March at the Whatley Auditorium. In one of the most engaging scenes of the film, he plays Shelby patron, Roy Cherryhomes, with a southern accent. According to the book, Carroll Shelby byRinsey Mills, Cherryhomes helped make Shelby a great racer, but was also a very divisive figure in the early Dallas racing circles. In the scene, based on the book, Cherryhomes gets into a fight over his assumed right to sit on a dishwasher. Guerrero explores ethnic nuances as well with his second character, Dr. Alfredo Trento, the California surgeon who gave Shelby his second heart. Guerrero鈥檚 accent and hand motions again provide the verisimilitude which makes the scene stand out.
The Women Empowering Women conference, hosted by Hope Ministries, will be held at the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts on Saturday, Feb. 5.
