Whatley Employee Enhancement Award winners announced

The 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ Foundation announced the winners of the 2015-2016†Whatley Employment Enhancement Awards this week. Five†out of 21 proposals were chosen for funding. Winning employees and projects included:

Cypress Bank sponsors The Hit Men

Cypress Bank recently gave $3,000 to sponsor the upcoming holiday performance of The Hit Men, former stars of Frankie Valli & The 4 Seasons, at the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts at 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½. 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ Foundation receives Irvin Gage Memorial Scholarship fund

† † † Representatives for the Irvin Gage Memorial Scholarship recently announced that the administration of the scholarship fund will now be managed by the 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ Foundation. Each year since the fund was established in 1986, the scholarship has provided assistance to one or two deserving agriculture students from Mount Pleasant High School and it will continue to do so indefinitely into the future.

Charlie & Helen Hampton receive Distinguished Benefactor Award

Helen Hampton and her late husband Charlie dedicated their entire professional careers to education, so it only made sense that they would continue to do so in retirement. Since moving back home to Northeast Texas in the mid 1990s, the Hamptons have contributed to scholarships and†cultural events at 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½. From helping students achieve their dreams of a college education to sponsoring high-quality entertainment at the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts, the Hamptons are among the college?s††most prolific donors.

Team Arise gives 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ veteran scholarship

Michael Brown (left) recently gave $500 to the 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ Foundation on behalf of his organization, Team Arise. The funds will provide a scholarship to 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ students who are veterans or children of veterans. Dr. Jonathan McCullough, 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ Vice President for Advancement, is pictured receiving the gift. Carroll Shelby Foundation gives $25,000 for 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ scholarships

The 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ Foundation recently received a $25,000 gift from the Carroll Shelby Foundation. The donation will provide scholarships for students in the Carroll Shelby Automotive Technology Program at 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½. Dr. Jonathan McCullough (second from right), 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ Vice President for Advancement, accepted the gift.

Cartwright Community Center board gives to scholarship

The Cartwright Community Center Board recently contributed $1,000 to the Ralph Whatley Agriculture Scholarship at 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½. Pictured making the donation are Doug and Kathy Richey (left) and Kim and Steve Raley. Dr. Jonathan McCullough (right), 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ Vice President for Advancement, received the gift on behalf of the 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ Foundation. The community center was recently sold and funds from the sale were distributed to several local organizations.

Perrymans sponsor scholarship reception

Richard and Margaret Perryman recently presented a $3,000 check to Nita May (right), Director of Development, 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½.† The funds will be used to underwrite the 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ Foundation Annual Scholarship Reception.† The reception is held on the 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ campus each fall and allows scholarship recipients to meet the donors who made their award possible. In addition to helping 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ with scholarships themselves, the Perrymans have been underwriting the Scholarship Reception for more than 10 years.

Progressive Women's Organization gives $1,000 for 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ scholarships

The Progressive Women's Organization of Mount Pleasant recently presented $1,000 to the 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ Foundation to provide two scholarships for students majoring in education. The donation was given in memory of Verner Cornelius, a longtime local educator. Members from the group are pictured presenting a check to Nita May, 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ Director of Development (third from right).
