Texas Heritage National Bank recently gave $4,000 to the 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ Foundation. The funds will be used to sponsor a Presidential Scholar in Honors Northeast, 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½?s nationally-recognized honors program. 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ names library for Charlie and Helen Hampton

91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ recently announced that its library has been renamed the Charlie and Helen Hampton Learning Resource Center (LRC). The 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ Board of Trustees voted unanimously to approve the new building name in their April board meeting. This is the first name change in a recently-launched fundraising/naming campaign by the 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ Foundation. The naming campaign comes as the campus interior undergoes a major transformation.

Helen Hampton and her late husband, Charlie, of Naples, are longtime friends of 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½.

International Sulphur gives five transfer scholarships

International Sulphur, Inc. recently made a scholarship donation to the 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ Foundation.†Marci Henderson (left), is pictured presenting a $5,000 check to Dr. Jonathan McCullough, 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ Vice President for Advancement. The 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ Foundation recently received a $10,000 gift from the East Texas Communities Foundation and the Burt and Nancy Marans Estate. Dr. Brad Johnson, 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ President (right) and Dr. Jonathan McCullough, 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ Vice President for Advancement, are pictured receiving the donation. †The funds will be used to begin the restoration process for the Dr. John Biggers mural that will be relocated from Pewitt Elementary School to the 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ Charlie and Helen Hampton Learning Resource Center.

Dr. Tawny Nix gives scholarships

Dr. Tawny Nix, Director of the 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ Medical Assistant program, recently contributed $2,000 to the 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ Foundation. The funds will provide scholarships to students majoring in Medical Assistant, Medical Coding or Health Informatics. Helen Hampton sponsors Pinkalicious

Helen Hampton (center) sponsored the April 3 performance of the popular children?s musical ?Pinkalicious" at the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts at 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½. She is pictured with cast members at the VIP Tea Party with Pink held after the show. ?Pinkalicious" marked the end of the Whatley Center?s 2015-2016 season. The lineup for next year?s shows will be announced this summer.

Elizabeth H. Whatley leaves behind lasting legacy at 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½

91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ lost a long time friend this week as Mrs. Elizabeth H. Whatley passed away at the age of 89. Services for Mrs. Whatley will be held Saturday, April 9 at 10:30 a.m. in Longview at the mausoleum at Rosewood Park.

?Mrs. Whatley and her husband James loved 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½. I am so glad that she got to experience the impact she had on our college first hand before she passed away. The Whatleys truly left a legacy that will live on for many†generations to come,? Dr.
