The Shelby Foundation continues to honor Shelby's commitment to local students by supporting the 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ Automotive Program. Current students in the Shelby Program held a Chili Cook-off in his memory on his birthday.

About this position: This position is funded through the Texas Workforce Commission and overseen by the 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ Adult Education and Literacy Department. ESL instruction is provided to persons who speak little or no English. Teachers must be able to prepare and upgrade students’ skills in listening and reading comprehension, speaking, and writing in conjunction with life skills and civics components to help students fully function in the community. 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ 17 or older are eligible for ESL services.

The 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ Foundation recently received a donation of $10,000 from the Christiansen and Stanley families. The gift is being used to establish an endowed scholarship for students majoring in agriculture or other workforce-related fields. Thanks to a matching grant, the $10,000 will be doubled for a total impact of $20,000.
The 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ Carroll Shelby Student Auto Club is having a fund-raising chili cook-off to honor Carroll Shelby’s 100th birthday. All monies will go to support the club’s activities. The event will be held in the 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ Culinary School in downtown Pittsburg on January 11th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Awards will be given for the winner of the People’s Choice and Judge’s Choice Chili.
