Neida Janet Perez becomes third James and Elizabeth Whatley Scholar

In her first year at 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½, Neida Perez became a standout among standouts.  As a top-ranked Presidential Scholar, she has earned this fall one of the two most lucrative foundation scholarships granted through the college’s honors program. She will be the college’s James and Elizabeth Whatley Scholar for 2023-24.

This scholarship came into being as part of a record-breaking 1.7 million-dollar gift to 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ in 2007 by the Whatley family.

91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ names new head softball coach

91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ has named Haley Colwell as the new leader for the Eagle Softball program. Haley Colwell joins the talented staff at Northeast as the new Head Softball coach.

Colwell brings a wealth of knowledge and experience both as a player and as a coach. Recently she served as the first head softball coach in program history at West Plains High School in Amarillo, Texas.

Fall semester less than two weeks away

We are officially less than two weeks away from the start of the Fall 2023 semester. Classes start Monday, Aug. 28th. There is still time to sign up, but you need to act now!

Most current students should be able to register online in the . New students should visit  to get started and schedule to see an advisor ASAP. We can't wait to welcome everyone back for the 2023-2024 academic year!

Auditions planned for "Yes, Virginia, There Is A Santa Claus"

The 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ Theatre Department, in collaboration with Firefly Community Theatre (Pittsburg Camp County Arts Council) will soon host auditions for it's upcoming radio play production of Yes, Virginia, There Is a Santa Claus, based upon the teleplay by Val De Crowl and Andrew J. Fenady. Auditions will be held on September 6th at 6 p.m. at the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts and callbacks (if needed) will be September 7th. Both 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ students and members of the community are encouraged to audition.

Honors Northeast seeks entries for annual poetry contest

Honors Northeast, the honors program of 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ announces a call for poems and images that can accent or enliven our sense of the surroundings, people, the culture, and/or the history of Northeast Texas.

Free GED, ESL classes start August 28th

The Adult Education Department at 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ is accepting new and returning students for its GED (General Educational Development) and ESL (English as a Second Language) programs. Those interested in participating in either of these free educational programs should call to make an appointment for registration. While classes are offered in various convenient locations around the area, all registration will be held at the Community Resource Center (formerly MPISD Administration Building) at 105 N.
