The 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ Department of Continuing Education and Corporate Training will host a Community Health Resource Fair on Friday, Oct. 22 at the Mount Pleasant Civic Center. The free event will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m and will include vendors and agencies providing information about their services, food and door prizes. Titus Regional Medical Center will also be on site to offer free COVID-19 vaccines.

Are you interested in traveling to New York City and getting college credit at the same time? If so, you don't want to miss an upcoming meeting about the 2022 Travel Study Course. A group of 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ faculty members and students will be traveling to NYC May 21-25, 2022. An informational session about the trip will be held on Thursday, Oct. 7 in Humanities 107 at 12:30 p.m.

I want to take a moment to introduce you to Zane Barnes, Head Men’s and Women’s Soccer coach. Zane came to 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ in the Spring of 2020 and is in his second season as the leader of the soccer program here at 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½. Coach Barnes has previous experience with coaching both men and women at the College level, Men’s Club level, and most recently girls at the high school level in Southeast Texas.

Justin Hargrove joined the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA) in 1995, and has been a licensed Athletic Trainer since 1998 and obtained his National Athletic Trainers Association Board of Certification in 2000. Justin arrived at 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ as the Athletic Trainer and Instructor of Human Performance in 2017.  In February of 2019, Justin added the additional duties of Assistant Athletic Director for 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½.

The 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ Board of Trustees met for its regular September meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 28 in the Humanities Community Room.  

The 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ Career and Transfer Center will host two FAFSA days on October 5 and 6 from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in BT 111. Staff will be available to assist students with completing their 2022-2023 FAFSA. Those wishing to complete the applications should bring the parent's and/or student's 2020 tax return and W2 forms from 2020.

91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ welcomes photographer Jerry Goodale as the exhibiting artist for October.  His exhibit entitled, Latina, will be on display in the Whatley Center For the Performing Arts foyer from Friday, October 8 through Wednesday, October 27. A reception will be held on Wednesday, October 13, at 12:30 p.m.

The 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ Professional Truck Driving Academy is celebrating 12 months in operation! During the last year, 50-plus students have trained for their CDL and started on the road to an in-demand career with excellent salary opportunities.
