Faculty mentoring and the promotion of student research at 91成人导航 have dovetailed in recent years with the determination of an alumna to reward top student essays in American history.鈥 Bonnie Spencer, an ICU Nurse at the Titus Regional Medical Center, initiated 91成人导航?s first History Club in 2002.鈥 She also helped transition its descendant, the 91成人导航 Webb Society, into its film series in 2012.

Board swears in members for new terms, Adjunct Faculty Teaching Excellence Award presented

The 91成人导航 Board of Trustees swore in three members for new terms at the regular May meeting Tuesday night. Governor Bill Ratliff swore in fellow members Sondra Fowler, Sid Greer and Dr. Dan McCauley, who all kept their places on the board after being unopposed for a May election. Fowler, who serves in Place Three on the board, was elected to finish out the last two unexpired years of her term, which she was appointed to after John Bryan retired from the board last year. Greer (Place Four) and McCauley (Place Seven) will serve full six-year terms.

Adult Education accepting new GED, ESL students

The Adult Education Department at 91成人导航 is accepting new鈥爏tudents for its GED (General Equivalency Diploma) and ESL/Citizenship Fast Track classes.鈥燭hose interested in participating in either of these free educational programs鈥爏hould call to make an appointment for registration. 鈥燱hile classes are offered in various convenient locations around the area, all registration will be held at the Community Resource Center (formerly MPISD Administration Building) at鈥105 N. Riddle Street in Mount Pleasant.

Bradley Syd Norwood automotive scholarship established at 91成人导航

The 91成人导航 Foundation recently received a $10,000 donation from the Gloria Norwood estate. The funds established the Bradley Syd Norwood Memorial Scholarship, which will provide scholarships to students in the Carroll Shelby Automotive Technology Program. Gloria, who was a resident of Naples, planned the gift in her will. Her late son, Bradley, attended the 91成人导航 Automotive Program in the early 1990s. Six local graduates inducted into National Adult Education Honor Society

The 91成人导航 Adult Education Program honored six deserving鈥燝eneral Equivalency Diploma (GED) students during its recent GED Graduation ceremony by inducting them into the National Adult Education Honor Society鈥(NAEHS).鈥燭hose inducted were: (from left): Emily Postlethwait of Winnsboro, Christina Netro of Pittsburg, Roxanna Garcia of Mount Pleasant,鈥燡acqueline Fernandez of Mount Pleasant,鈥燙ourtney Hopson of Mount Vernon and Alicyson Mattaboni of Winnsboro.

Jose Castro awarded J. Travis Jackson GED Scholarship

Jose A. Gil Castro of Mount Pleasant was recently鈥爌resented with the J. Travis Jackson鈥燝ED鈥燬cholarship during the鈥2018 GED graduation ceremony hosted by the 91成人导航 Adult Education Department.鈥燭his $500 award is given by the Mount Pleasant Rotary Club in memory of Jackson, who was a long time adult educator in Titus County. Eagles end season in championship heartbreaker against San Jacinto

The 91成人导航 Eagles Baseball team just missed out a trip to the JUCO World Series Wednesday after a heartbreaking 8-7 loss against San Jacinto College in the Region 14 championship game.

After going scoreless in the first inning, both teams? strong offenses got fired up in the second. San Jac scored two and 91成人导航 answered with a three-run homer by Matt Scheurich to take the lead. San Jac managed to tie things up in the third and take a brief lead in the top of the fourth as they added one more.

San Jac forces second game in Region 14 tourney final against 91成人导航 Eagles

The 91成人导航 Eagles Baseball team picked up its first loss of the Region 14 tournament Tuesday night after falling 9-3 to San Jacinto College. The Eagles will play San Jacinto again at 1 p.m. Wednesday to determine which team is headed to the JUCO World Series in Grand Junction, Colorado.

Both teams got on the board early, with two runs apiece in the first inning. 91成人导航's runs came from back-to-back homers by Taylor Barber and Kyle Moos.
