Health Sciences conducts interdisciplinary simulation event

The 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ Health Sciences department held its first interdisciplinary simulation that combined Medical Assisting, Nursing, Medical Lab Technician, and Physical Therapist Assistant students October 18†in the Medical Assisting and Simulation Labs.

91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ moved through a ?real world? patient scenario that incorporated the full healthcare team.

Scare Affair scheduled for Oct. 22

It?s time to put on your best Halloween costume, dust off your trick-or-treat basket and head out to 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ for the 29th annual Scare Affair.

The event is from 6-9 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 22 on the plaza of the main 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ campus (located on FM 1735 near Chapel Hill ISD). There will be free candy for all trick-or-treaters, low-cost games for all ages, a costume contest with cash prizes and much more!

Might Bill and Hillary Clinton have something to learn from . . . former Texas governors, Ma and Pa Ferguson? This question drove Austin KUT radio reporter, Joy Diaz to the Honors Northeast film bank, and then to a commentary that was broadcast across Texas by affiliated National Public Radio stations on September 27.

91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ Honors Director, Dr. Andrew Yox wrote and aired the commentary.† He noted that the political couples have many similarities.

91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ Women's Soccer beats ranked Navarro

The Lady Eagles soccer team faced off against the 13th ranked Navarro for the second time in a region game Tuesday. Navarro came out strong and found the back of the net in the 4th minute giving them a 1-0 lead. The Lady Eagles were able to uphold the pressure and keep the score at 1-0. In the 25th minute††was able to capitalize on a penalty kick and even the score.

Art department hosts pottery and sculpture exhibit

The 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ Art Department is hosting Diversity in Clay, a pottery and sculpture exhibit by Llwanda Golden through October 26 in the foyer of the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts.

"Llwanda is a prolific artist with a high level of sophistication and detail. From her whimsical teapots to lifelike human busts, each piece is unique and special," Debbie Strong, 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ Instructor of Art, said.
