Richard Perryman, (pictured, left) recently presented a $3,000 check to Dr. Jonathan McCullough, Vice President for Advancement, 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½.† The funds will be used to underwrite the 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ Foundation Annual Scholarship Reception.† The reception is held on the 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ campus each fall and allows scholarship recipients to meet the donors who made their award possible. In addition to helping 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ with scholarships themselves, Richard and Margaret Perryman have been underwriting the Scholarship Reception for more than 10 years.

The 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ Foundation recently received an $1,800 gift from the Lions Club of Pittsburg. The donation will provide three $600 scholarships to 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ students from Camp County. Lions Club President, Allen Weatherford (right) is pictured making the donation to Dr. Jonathan McCullough, 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ Vice President for Advancement. It seems ironic that as little as a generation ago, my grandparents managed to feed their family of eight, either by fishing, hunting, gathering and/or subsistence farming and yet most of our so-called technologically advanced people today would starve if we had to eat only what we could grow. I can remember that my grandparents hardly ever made a weekly trip to the store to purchase any food product that they could grow on their farm.

A Smart Driver Course, hosted by AARP, is scheduled for Thursday,† May 29 at 8:45 a.m. at the 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ Hanson-Sewell Center in Pittsburg. †This newly-revised, four-hour course may qualify attendees for significant car insurance discounts with many auto insurance companies.† The course is designed for seniors 50 years and older, however, anyone may enroll.† Topics include common crash situations, driver safety strategies, new state laws, effects of aging on driving, and others. †Class size is limited and participants must call to enroll.
