91³ÉÈ˵¼º½

The Student Services team at 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ was pleased to host a Scholarship Awards Ceremony on Tuesday, April 30th in collaboration with Texas A&M University-Texarkana. Scholarships for 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ students who have applied and been accepted to attend TAMU-T were awarded on the recommendation of their 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ College Navigator.  91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ College Navigators chose students from their assigned cohorts who they had worked closely with to assist in the pursuit of their Associates Degree while at 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½.

The 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ Taste of 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½: Battle of the Booths event was a huge success! Ten booths served up a variety of delicious dishes for sampling by a large crowd of students, faculty, staff and community members.  The event raised almost $2,400 that was split evenly between the participating clubs and organizations. 

Each ticket holder was able to cast votes for their favorite booths. The winners of the People’s Choice awards were as follows:

The 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ Foundation finished East Texas Giving Day 2024 at the top of the leaderboard for the third year in a row this Tuesday. 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ raised a whopping $255,534 via the annual fundraising event that has become a regional tradition.

The 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ Culinary Arts Program is pleased to announce an exciting series of couples cooking classes that will be held this May-June. 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ is partnering with local restaurants to offer participants the chance to learn how to prepare some of their most popular dishes directly from the chefs who create them.

The 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ baseball team has solidified the third-place position in Region 14 North of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA). The Eagles will finish up conference play with two games this weekend against Navarro College at 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ weather permitting Saturday, May 4th.

91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ Rodeo ended the regular season of the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association (NIRA) Southern Region with a Rodeo hosted by Hill College April 26-27.

The 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ Board of Trustees met for its regular April meeting on Tuesday, April 23rd. The first order of business was the presentation of the Adjunct Faculty Teaching Excellence Award. Jennifer Sparks presented the award to Monica Graves on behalf of the faculty. Graves teaches Learning Frameworks for 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½.

Two 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ Honor Societies gathered in the Community Room on Wednesday, April 24th to induct new members. Sigma Kappa Delta inducted 15 members and Phi Theta Kappa inducted 67. to view/download event photos.
