Culinary Arts dinner tickets now on sale

The 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ Culinary Arts Program will host a special Fall Dinner on Nov. 15th.  The dinner will be held at the 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ Culinary School in historic downtown Pittsburg and is open to the public. Tickets are on sale NOW! Due to to high demand at previous events, the Culinary Arts Program has moved to a ticketed event rather than first-come-first-served. Tickets can be obtained only at the 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ Hanson-Sewell Center at 237 College Street in Pittsburg, cash and checks are accepted for payment.

Rhylie Anderson wins Dr. Charles B. Florio Award

Submitted by Dr. Andrew Yox, Honors Director A sophomore Winnsboro Presidential Scholar and President of Alpha Mu Chi became the first winner of the Dr. Charles B. Florio Award for Leadership.  Rhylie Anderson will receive $200, given by an anonymous donor, in memory, of 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½â€™s longest-term President. Anderson is the leader of both the Phi Theta Kappa chapter, and the Honors Student Council at 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½.  She has been a steady, encouraging presence as cinematographer and actress in two 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ films.

Cypress Bank provides honors student with laptop

Submitted by Dr. Andrew Yox, Honors Director For the eleventh straight year since 2008, Cypress Bank has presented a high-end MacBook laptop for the use of 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ honors students.  This year’s recipient is Miguel Paco.  He is a recent graduate of Mount Pleasant High School and Presidential Scholar at 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½, who has been active in Honors and Alpha Mu Chi activities.  Paco majors in physics. Student survey winners announced

All students enrolled at 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ were invited to complete a national survey (The Student Financial Wellness Survey) to document the financial well-being of our students and how it impacts their ability to successfully achieve their college goals.  Three students who completed the survey were randomly selected to receive a $100 gift card to the 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ College Store.  The students are Hannah Fouche (right) and Michelle Solo (center), and Janet Johnson (not pictured).

Come cheer on your nationally-ranked men's soccer team Oct. 27

For the sixth year in a row, the Eagles women's soccer team has finished top four in a tough Region 14 and made playoffs. The Eagles finished the regular season with a record of 8-7-1 and in fourth place in Region 14. The women's team ended the season in a loss to Tyler Junior College in the Region 14 Semi-Final matchup on October 25. 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½'s nationally ranked men’s soccer team will host a Regional Semifinal game Saturday, Oct. 27 at 2 p.m. versus Laredo Community College.
