Jazmin Garcia, a student in the Honors Program at 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ and a graduate from Mount Pleasant High School, recently received the Walter B Cooper Scholarship at the Texas Leadership Conference. The Phi Theta Kappa conference, held on the campus of East Texas Baptist University, concluded by announcing five winners from across the state of Texas.

Carter BloodCare will be on campus Thursday, November 1 conducting a blood drive. Please help save a life by donating blood! The blood drive bus will be in the parking lot over by the Student Union Building from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. BE A PART OF SOMETHING GREAT!

91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ recently inducted new members into Psi Beta, the national honor society in psychology for students at two-year colleges.

After an impressive 2-1 win over #1 Tyler Junior College last Friday the men's soccer team has moved up in this week's NJCAA Division 1 Soccer Rankings. Previously ranked at #15 the Eagles are now sitting at #5 in this week's rankings. The Eagles are also ranked #3 in the United Soccer Coaches Junior College rankings this week (previously #8). The men's team is currently second in Region 14 standings only behind #6 Tyler Junior College. The Eagles have three more games until entering the Region 14 tournament and starting their playoff journey.

The Piney Woods Iris Society of Mount Pleasant met at their regular meeting Monday, Oct. 15 to present 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ student Jan Shirley with a $500 scholarship. Shirley was nominated by René McCracken, 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ Director of Agriculture. She was highly recommended for the scholarship and she hopes to finish her degree in horticulture. The Iris Society presents scholarship funds each year to help someone interested in the horticulture field. The Piney Woods Iris Society is a member of Region 17 of the Iris Society.

Members of Alpha Mu Chi, 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½â€™s five-star, award-winning chapter of Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society, attended and participated in the Texas Regional Leadership Conference held at East Texas Baptist University October 12-14.
