The 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ Career and Transfer Center will host two special events next week. On Wednesday, July 28 Emily Goya, a recruiter from UT Tyler, will be in the Career and Transfer Center (BT 111) from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ students who are interested in transferring to UT Tyler are encouraged to stop by and apply. The university is waiving the application fee for those who apply during the event.
91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ Continuing Education Department is pleased to announce that eight students graduated from 2021 Firefighter Academy on Monday, July 19. A commencement ceremony was held and Russ Marshall, Fire Chief of the Athens Fire Department, was the guest speaker.
Mr. Gilbert Wilson (right), of Pittsburg, recently gave $1,000 to the 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ Foundation. Dr. Jonathan McCullough (left), 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ Executive Vice President for Advancement, is pictured receiving the donation. The gift will go toward the Wilson Family Scholarship, which is named in memory of Mr. Wilson's parents. The perpetual scholarship provides deserving 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ students scholarships each year. More than 70 students from the 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ Work4College Program participated in Mad City reality simulation fair this Wednesday. The event, hosted by , is an exciting, interactive exercise to help students learn more about managing their personal finances.

The 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ Agriculture Department is hosting another Farmer's Market today (Friday, July 9) at the Ag Complex from 9 a.m. until sellout. In addition to lots of great farm items and vendors, the Ag Department is selling chicken tamales: $1 ea, 6 for $5 or Dozen for $10. Food will be ready at noon. Farmer's Markets are also planned for July 16, 23 and 30.
