New Personal Training Certification offered

91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ is now accepting applications for a Personal Training Certification program designed by and instructed by Dr. Tom Seabourne, 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ Professor of Physical Education. Classes begin September 21 and run through October 23.



This 15-hour course is a comprehensive, research-based program†designed to provide students with all of the skills required to become a personal trainer.

Job fair planned for Sept. 22

91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ (91³ÉÈ˵¼º½) will host a job fair on Tuesday, September 22 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Student Union Building (SUB) on the main 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ campus. The event is free to the public. Hiring managers and other representatives from†local and regional employers will be in attendance.†Prospective employees are encouraged to dress professionally and bring plenty of resumes to distribute to potential employers. Booth space is still available for businesses.

Natural Sciences Chair brings international perspective to 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½

You can tell by her accent that she's not from around here.

Christine Houser, MPhil, MD, and the new Chair of the Division of Natural Sciences and professor of biology and psychology, comes to the 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ campus from Europe. She most recently worked as a researcher for the Royal Infirmary in Edinburgh, Scotland and as a professor of psychology at Webster University Leiden campus, The Netherlands.

Progressive Women's Organization gives $1,000 for 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ scholarships

The Progressive Women's Organization of Mount Pleasant recently presented $1,000 to the 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ Foundation to provide two scholarships for students majoring in education. The donation was given in memory of Verner Cornelius, a longtime local educator.
