91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ offers free GED classes

The Adult Education Department at 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ is looking for dedicated students who would like to advance their earning potential by completing the General Education Development (GED) program. 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ offers free classes in a variety of locations to help students develop the skills necessary to pass the GED exam and receive a high school equivalency diploma.

Scott Wilhite named Dr. Mary Hood Texas Region Scholar

Scott Wilhite, a student at 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½, has been selected by Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society to receive a $1,500 scholarship as the 2015 Dr. Mary Hood Texas Region Scholar.

A father of three children, Wilhite enrolled in college after being laid off from his job. A political science major, he earned a 3.92 grade point average at 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ and became a member of Phi Theta Kappa. In addition to his work within the chapter, Wilhite took on a role coordinating a work scholarship program for 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½â€ this summer.

The 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ Continuing Education Department has a full slate of classes scheduled for this fall. These non-credit courses can be†taken for personal enrichment or for career training†purposes. Culinary arts to host October dinners

The 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ Culinary Arts Program will host two public dinners this fall on October 15 and 29. The events will be held at the 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ Culinary Arts School in historic downtown Pittsburg and seating begins at 6 p.m.†

The meal is first-come-first-served and no reservations will be accepted. The cost is $12 per person. Seating is limited to 80 guests.

TRMC Auxiliary gives $4,500 for 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ scholarships

The Titus Regional Medical Center (TRMC) Auxiliary recently presented the 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ Foundation with $4,500, which will provide six $750 scholarships to benefit students at 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ majoring in an allied health field. Vocational Nursing program celebrates graduates

The 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ Health Sciences division recently hosted a pinning ceremony to celebrate students completing coursework in Vocational Nursing. Twelve students completed the program and are now eligible to sit for state boards to become a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN).
