Eagles sweep Navarro, clinch regular season title

The 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ Eagles moved one step closer to the Junior College World Series Wednesday as they swept defending national champion Navarro to earn the regular season conference title.

A pair of outstanding pitching performances from starters Jordan Marah and Tanner Allgood, coupled with a strong defensive showing, carried the day as the Eagles defeated the visiting Bulldogs 3-1 and 2-0.

With the wins, the Eagles finish the regular season 26-10 in Region XIV Eastern Zone play and 33-14 overall.

Eagles battle Navarro for conference title Wednesday

The 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ Eagles baseball team is hoping for †a large home crowd Wednesday†afternoon as they battle Navarro College for the Region XIV†Eastern Zone regular-season title.


The two teams enter Wednesday?s matchup in a virtual tie†atop the standings with an Eagle sweep earning 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ the†title outright. While the games mark the end of the regular†season for the Eagles, the Bulldogs finish their season with†a pair of games at Paris Junior College Saturday.

ACE program celebrates Earth Day

Daingerfield Junior High students recently celebrated Earth Day by planting a tree on their campus. Robert Grant, Morris County Master Gardener (left) taught the students the importance of Earth Day, littering, recycling and reusing. The presentation was coordinated by the ACE (Afterschool Centers on Education) Program, which provides children with meaningful after school activities. ACE is a Texas Education Agency grant program that is administered through 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½.

Shelby Auto Club car show this Saturday



The 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ Carroll Shelby Automotive Club will host a Car and Bike Show this Saturday, April 21 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. All makes and models are welcome and People?s Choice awards will be given.




Registration is $20 per vehicle. People?s Choice classes include: Shelby, Modern, Classic, Truck, Bike, and Miscellaneous (ATVs, etc.). Winners will receive †plaques. †A Best of Show award will also be given. The event is free for the general public. There will be refreshments and activities for the whole family.

Eagles Marah throws no-hitter

The 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ Eagles (29-13, 22-10) snapped a four-game conference losing streak with a big win Wednesday as Jordan Marah threw a no-hitter against the visiting Paris Junior College Dragons in a 5-0 victory.

The Eagles came into the game on a four-game skid after dropping double headers against Texarkana and Panola last week.

SGA gives report at April board meeting

The 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ Student Government Association (SGA) gave a report to the 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ Board of Trustees on Tuesday night. SGA President John Herron addressed the board regarding their recent trip to the state SGA convention in Austin. The group revealed plans to support The Wounded Warrior project, promote graduation at 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ and to assist fellow students with voter registration.

Theatre Northeast to perform 12 Angry Jurors

Theatre Northeast will present the tense courtroom drama†Twelve Angry Jurors †in the Studio Theatre of the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts on the campus of 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½. The show will run†April 26-28 at 7:30 p.m. and April 29 at 2:05 p.m.

The play by Reginald Rose, originally a 1954 CBS STUDIO ONE television drama, and subsequently an academy award nominated film starring Henry Fonda and Lee J.
