Fast track police academy begins August 20
†††Did you know that you can become a police officer in just 17.5 weeks?†If you are over 21 years of age, have a clear criminal history, posses†good physical stamina and can devote all of your time to learning, then†the police academy may be the right program for you.
†††The Northeast Police Academy at 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ will†offer a "fast track" academy beginning August 20, 2012. This day†academy includes physical fitness training and meets from 6:30 a.m. to†5:00 p.m.
Continuing Education announces new courses for July
The Continuing Education Department at 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ is pleased to announce these new courses starting in in July:
91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ 101 night scheduled for June 28
†††91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ will host an 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ 101 college readiness †night on Thursday, June 28 from 6:30-8:00 p.m. in the Student Union Building. Representatives from advising, financial aid, admissions, the business office, testing and other areas will be available to assist students.
†††The event is free and open to the public. Both current and prospective students are encouraged to attend.
91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ opens disc golf course

91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ recently completed construction on a new nine-hole disc golf course on the main campus. It is free to use and open to the general public.
The course is located on the east side of the campus and the first tee box is located between the new Student Housing East building and the back of the Eagles Softball field.
Upward Bound team named Fittest Employees for June

Jackson finishes 10th at CNFR
†††Dustin Jackson, a team roping header from 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½, finished the 2011-2012 season at 10th in the nation last week at the College National Finals Rodeo (CNFR) in Casper, Wyoming.
†††Jackson was partnered with heeler Corey Hendrick of Wharton County Junior College. The team missed their final steer in the short round, dashing their hopes of a higher finish.

†††After the first three go-rounds, 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½'s Dustin Jackson has secured a spot in the short round and is currently in fourth place in average for Team Roping (header).

Jerald and Mary Lou Mowery give $5,000 for Whatley Campaign
Jerald and Mary Lou Mowery of Mount Vernon recently pledged $5,000 to benefit the 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ Campaign for the Whatley. They are pictured presenting the gift (center) to Carolyn Franks, Director of the Whatley Center (right) and Dr. Jonathan McCullough, 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ Vice President for Advancement (left). Their gift will be used to help make much-needed renovations to the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts.
