Eleven GED grads inducted into honor society
The Titus County Literacy Advisory Council recently honored 11 deserving†General Equivalency Diploma (GED) students from Northeast Texas Community†College by inducting them into the National Adult Education Honor Society†(NAEHS).

91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ raises $2,651 for Relay for Life
Last weekend, 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ participated in the 2012 Relay for Life at the Mount Pleasant Junior High School track. Despite getting a late start, the 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ family was able to raise $2,651.31 for the cause. "Estelene Eagle" (AKA Professor Doug Hoppock) won the Mr. Relay competition by a landslide by raising a whopping $1,277.31 towards the total. Phi Theta Kappa named 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ Student Organization of the Year
The 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ office of Student Activities and Multicultural Affairs has named the Phi Theta Kappa Alpha Mu Chi chapter as the 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ Outstanding Student Organization for the 2011-2012 school year. This award is given to an official 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ student organization that displays outstanding contributions to the college, contributions to the community and development of its members. Phi Theta Kappa received a plaque and $250 for their student club account.
91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ receives $4,000 TASB grant
91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ has been awarded a loss prevention grant of $4,000 from the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) Risk Management Fund. Grant monies help implement loss prevention and safety initiatives to raise awareness of safety issues and reduce potential for property losses and on-the-job injuries.
91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ to host, compete in Region XIV Baseball Tourney
91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ will host the NJCAA Region XIV Baseball Tournament May 12-16 at Eagle Field. The top eight teams from Region XIV will compete for the chance to play in the JUCO World Series in Grand Junction Colorado later this summer.
The 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ Eagles enter the tournament as the top seed in the Eastern Zone of the region with a 26-10 record. The Navarro College Bulldogs earned the second spot in the zone with a 24-12 record.
91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ Rodeo sends four to CNFR

The Notheast Texas Community College Eagles Rodeo Team will once again be represented at the College National Finals Rodeo (CNFR).
91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ Ag students design flower beds at Hanson-Sewell Center
91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ Sustainable Agriculture students recently participated in a hands-on project at the 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ Hanson-Sewell Center in Pittsburg.††Under the guidance of Assistant Professor, Chris Oefinger, the students were assigned the task of redesigning the flower bed at the center. A landscaping plan was selected from those submitted by students. The next task included, cleaning the bed, preparing the soil, planting, and replacing the weed guard and mulch.
Marguerite Morris named April Fittest Employee of the Month

The fifth-annual McGraw Hill Poster Contest was held on April 27 at the†Whatley Center for the Performing Arts at†91³ÉÈ˵¼º½.
This competition gives 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ students and local high school seniors an opportunity to present their unique ideas and research.
