91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ held its winter 2011 commencement ceremony at the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts on Friday, Dec. 16. During the ceremony, 102 students were awarded associate degrees and 42 earned certificates of competency in their chosen fields. John Coleman, 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ Associate Faculty Member in Psychology gave the commencement address. Hastings Entertainment recently gave $209.17 to benefit the Titus County Literacy Advisory Committee. These funds were donated by Hastings customers at the local Mount Pleasant store. Receiving the gift on behalf of the Titus County Literacy Advisory Committee are Freda Duncan (left) and Linda Zepeda. Hastings maintains an active involvement in the fight against illiteracy.

Glenda Lee recently presented a check to the 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ Foundation for $3,300. These funds were raised at the annual Tommy Lee Memorial Biker Run at Chickfest. The gift will be used to provide scholarships to Camp County students attending 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½. Pepsi recently made a $15,000 contribution to 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½. The funds were designated to benefit the 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ Eagles Athletic program. Mr. Jeremy Gunnells (left), presents the check on behalf of Pepsi to Dr. Jonathan McCullough (right), 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ Vice President for Advancement.

Bill Price of Mount Pleasant recently committed $5,000 to benefit the 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½â€ Campaign for the Whatley. His donation will be used to help renovate the 20-year-old Whatley Center for the Performing Arts. The goal for the campaign is to raise $750,000 over the next three years. Dustin D. Haley and T.W.W. Buffalo recently completed the Solar Photovoltaic Installer Course (ELMT 1002) at 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½. This 48-hour class prepares students for the†Texas Electrician Solar Installer classification or a pathway towards NABCEP photovoltaic installer certification.

The course involves classroom and hands-on laboratory instruction over solar fundamentals, site selection, best practice installation, system maintenance, and troubleshooting procedures.

Linda Zepeda of Mount Pleasant recently committed $500 to benefit the 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½â€ Campaign for the Whatley. These funds will be used to help update the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts. The goal for the campaign is to raise $750,000 over the next three years.
